What will I need to do this course?

Pre course requirement – Preferably the attendees are using EWP`S in their current role or have had previous experience but not essential.

We will provide all the training requirements.
All we require is you.
NOTE:
You must wear closed in shoes and preferably steel toe caps. 

 

Course outline

The duration of the course is 1 day.

The course will cover the following:

  1.  Unit Standard 23966 (Compulsory) - Describe types of elevating work platforms.
  2. Any 3 of: 

‚Äč             a. Unit Standard 23960 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift elevating work platform

             b. Unit Standard 23961 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a truck-mounted elevating work platform

             c. Unit Standard 23962 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self-propelled boom lift elevating work platform

             d. Unit Standard 23963 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a trailer-mounted elevating work platform 

         OR

            e. Unit Standard 23964 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a vertical lift elevating work platform

3. Practical          

 

People who successfully complete any one of the Unit Standards above will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate konowledge of types of EWP's, their suitablity for the purpose, and safety features including sissor lift, truck mounted, and self-propelled boom lift, trailer mounted, vertical lift
  2. Demonstarte knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to Codes of practice and the use of EWP's.
  3. Operate an EWP within following the manufacturer's recommendations and within the machine's intended specifications, in accordance with industry requirements.

This course includes both theory and practical, and will cover the types of Elevated Work Platforms together with the legistive requirements for the safe operation of the EWP's.
