In regards to trucks: Currently If the vehicle is a goods vehicle (with an unladen weight exceeding 2000kg) in which seatbelts are not available, then a child under five years old is not required to be restrained, however, from 1 November this exemption will be removed. So children must now be appropriately restrained if travelling in these vehicles.
