Road Toll for Queens Birthday weekend  2016

Queens birthday weekend has been a nightmere with 11 deaths making this our worst Queens Birthday weekend on our roads in 27 years.
The 11 deaths were:
                            6 drivers
                            3 passengers
                            2 motor cycle rider

Six of the fatal crashes reported during the weekend occurred on the open road

The official holiday period will begins at 4pm on Thursday 24 December 2015 and ends at 6am Hrs on Tuesday 5 January 2016

The Christmas road toll as at the 3rd January stands at 12 compared to 16 for the whole period last year
A perso has died from injuries as a result of a crash on the 1st at Whangamata.
A peson died as results from a injuries as a result of a crash on the 3rd on State Highway 33 at Mourea, near Rotorua
A person has died as a result of a 2 vehicle crash in the Hawkes Bay area on the 3rd
A person has died as a result of a 2 cvehicle crash on the 3rd on Styate Highway 1 near Wairakei about 20k's north of Taupo at 1pm.
A woman died on the 1st January as a result of a crash on Wednesday the 30th near Omaru
A person died on the 1st January as a result of a single vehicle crash in Motueka
A preson has died on the 29th after a crash involing a car and a truck in Selwyn District near Christchurch.
A motorcylist was killed on the 28th as a result of a crash near Matamata.
A cyclist has died on the 26th after injuies recieved in a crash in Swanson, Auckland. 
A person was killed and three serious injured on the 26th in a crash on State Highway 1 at Tokorora. 
A French tourist on his first day in NZ has died as a result of a 3 vehicle crash on the 25th on State Highway 1 at Oakleign near Whangarei.

‚ÄčThe road toll for Labour weekend was 5.   Involving 2 Pedestrians, 1 Motorcyclist and 2 in cars

This makes it the worst Labour weekend since 2012
During Labour weekend in 2014 there were 3 fatal crashes resulting in 3 deaths

The Road Toll for the Queens Birthday weekend period for 2015
The official holiday period for Queen's Birthday Weekend for 2015 began at 4pm Friday 29 May and ended at 6am Tuesday 2 June.

During the 2013/2014 Christmas holiday period there were 7 fatal crashes and 193 reported injury crashes. Those crashes resulted in 7 deaths, 74 serious injuries and 234 minor injuries.

A 71-year-old woman has died from injuriers sustained in a crash on Te Rapa Road in Hamilton
A 24 year old man died after his car went through a fence and into a paddock near Invercargill
A 58-year-old man from Taumarunui was killed in the single-vehicle accident  
A 22 year old man has died after he crashed into a tree in Otago
A 29-year-old Levin man died after being hit by a taxi on Hokio Beach Road Levin
A 81-year-old woman passenger has died from injuries sustained in a head-on crash in Northland

A crash  near Moaeraki, between Haast and Fox Glacier claimed the life of two passengers

A pedestrian in Wellsford has later died from injuries.
A pedestrian has died in the Waikato District  
A crash in Tauranga's Welcome Bay resulted in the death of two teen sisters, aged 13 and 14. 
A crash in Woodbury where the driver was killed. 
A crash on State Highway 3, South of Waitara, in Taranaki claimed the life of one person.

A crash in Christchurch where a car crashed into the Avon river claiming the life of 1 person

During the 2010 / 2011 Christmas / New Year holiday period there were a total of 12 fatal crashes
